Rugby World Cup 2011: Dan Carter's Recovery After Groin Surgery

Dan Carter got injured in his groin before New Zealand's match against Canada.

The New Zealand All Black's flyhalf Dan Carter had a groin injury occured on October 1, 2011 before their pool match against Canada. He had a torn tendon that needs to be repaired by the means of a surgery.

The surgery on Dan Carter's left adductor was done in Melbourne, Australia on Monday, October 10, 2011 and then Carter flew back to New Zealand on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, according to the New Zealand Rugby Union.

The surgery to repair his torn tendon "went well," according to Dan Carter and his now on the process of recovering and will be concentrating on his rehabilitation which includes strength exercises. This rehabilitation programme aims to have Carter running within 2 months.

Carter is expecting to be fully recovered in 3 months.
