Gym Ball
Gym ball, swiss ball, fitness ball, vestibular ball, physio ball, whatever you may call it, it is a piece of round thing that will surely makes a huge difference in your body by actually just sitting, rolling, or bouncing on it. Yes, you read it right!!!
It was originally used by Physical Therapist for patients with motor instability for rehab purposes. But this bouncy thing is far too versatile and valuable. It is a very inexpensive equipment which gives you a total body workout.
Here are some exercises that you can do with this famous ball:
1. Oblique Twist: First, you have to lie down on your back, (the ball under your back), put your hands behind your head and slowly pull up your upper body on the right side, or if you prefer to do the left side, that's fine. Whatever side is comfortable with you. Make sure you're not straining your neck, or you're not pulling your head all the way up, it will cause an injury. You just lift your shoulder blades on whichever side you want to start first, then rotate or switch to the other side.
2. Chest Fly: Lie across the ball with your head and shoulder supported by the ball, your face is upright, looking at the ceiling,. Place your arms overhead, with your palms facing away from you, do a circular motion, slowly going down, bending your elbows as you go down, then put your palms facing each other. Repeat by going back to your starting position.
3. Squat Against Wall: Lean your back against the ball that is placed against a wall and stand with your feet. Your hip wide apart, and it should be a foot away from the wall. Keep your back straight. Let the ball roll up your back until your knees bend. Keep your knees behind your toes as you bend. Repeat by going back to a starting position.
So, if you haven't got your own gym ball, purchase it today. I bought mine at 123 dollar shop for 10 New Zealand Dollars. It's a good save!!!
