Trick or Treating
In many countries, trick-or-treating is practiced by children on Halloween day, October 31. Children are dressed up with different costumes. The most popular scary costumes are witches, Dracula, vampires, mummy, and masks. The children will walk from street to street, go house to house, and knock from door to door in order to ask for some treats which usually are in the means of candies and lollipops. In some cultures, they give out cupcakes or money.
Of course, before they will be given out some treats, they should knock at the door ask the question, “Trick or treat?” The trick is not usually the case except for those tricky homeowners who wants to play around with the kids. Most homeowners give out treats for scary little kids but they have to be quick or they will run out candies. But don’t forget your pumpkin baskets!!!
Unfortunately, here in New Zealand, Halloween is not celebrated as other countries do. I know, it is somehow boring down here but luckily in some parts of the country, some homeowners are slowly participating in a fun holiday activity.
