Fussy Eaters

The best research in this area recommends that a Division of Responsibility is established around eating. That is the parents decide what , when, and where to feed children, and the child determines how much and whether or not to eat. It is important that you avoid pressuring or bribing your child to eat.

Do not be offended if your baby decides to reject the food you have prepared - take a deep breath and press on, this is completely normal. There are a myriad of reasons why babies become fussy, and once these reasons are understood, you can try your best to overcome them. It is important to know though, that on occasion, you may try everything, and your baby still refuses to eat. At this time, remember the Division of Responsibility and take another deep breath! Keep persevering with the ideas below and this should pass. If you are concerned, consult your doctor or health care nurse.
